Grapevine
From ClothoWiki
Grapevine works on Notes and Factoids. These are for organizing information about literature references (patents, Medline-indexed papers, websites, DOIs, and patents). Grapevine is one of those apps that operates as both a viewer and a tool. As a viewer, it can read both Notes and Factoids in its two separate editors. When you launch Grapevine as a tool, it will show you all the Notes in your personal Collection(recursively, meaning it will include all Notes in any Collections within your personal Collection). From this, you can select a Note or create a new one to launch the Note Editor.

Opening Grapevine
Make sure you are connected to a database, as this is necessary when saving notes, or accessing saved notes. To open Grapevine, double click on the Grapevine icon on the Clotho dashboard. A prompt will pop up asking which note you want to edit. You can either select an existing note, or create a new note.
Using Grapevine
Note Editor
In Note editor, you'll see all the Notes contained within the Note (Notes are hierarchical) as well as all the Factoids in that note. If you double click on one of the sub-Notes, it will launch the Note Editor on that sub-Note. For the Factoids, there is a header panel that lists the name of the Factoid and the Reference link (usually a PMID). If you double click on the the Reference link, it will launch your web browser to jump straight to that digital document. For PMIDs, this means it launches Pubget and takes you straight to the PDF. If you double click on the title for the Factoid, you'll launch the Factoid Editor.
For Notes and Factoid title bars in the Note Editor, there are three buttons along the right which do what they say they'll do. You can remove the Note/Factoid from the Note being viewed, you can save the Note/Factoid, or you can launch the editor (same function as double clicking the title). You can also right click on these title bars for the Right-click popup.
Under the File menu, you can "Save Everything" which will save everything that might have been changed by Note Editor for the Note being edited.
Factoid Editor
To edit the factoid name, double click within yellow box 1. In Factoid Editor, you can add/change the digital reference link. Double click yellow box 2 in the picture below to edit the Factoid reference link. A Factoid points to one single digital references, but those can takes several forms. Most commonly, you will link to a website URL or a PMID. When you enter it, Grapevine will retrieve the abstract and title if it's a PMID. The author of the factoid can also be edited, by double clicking in yellow box 3. You can also add a title to your Factoid here, and you can edit the WikiText for the Factoid, in the space labeled 4.
WikiText Editor
Both Factoid Editor and Note Editor use WikiText editors. This component shows up in other tools as well, so you can read more about it at WikiText Editor;
